Witches Hats by Jen, Craft-O-Maniac

Jen from Craft-O-Maniac made these spooky witches hats for an event that she is planning. We love how she incorporated Canvas Corp Halloween Papers!

I am hosting A HUGE Witches Tea This Friday coming up... So I am still working on decorations....

All the paper but the cut out skull, cat and crow is from the amazing Canvas Corp. I ruffled ribbon on my sewing machine, rolled flowers cut paper, embellished, glued, and had fun. Thanks Jen from TT&J. Here are some pictures.

Save the Date Pillow

Canvas Corp sells 10″x18″ pillow forms that makes for a perfect size for a project like this one! The bright orange paint definitely makes a statement on this pillow with the Chalkstock attached with mini clothespins. You can change the message daily if you would like…just think of all of the possibilities!

Paint the front of the pillow a bright orange, I just usually put the paint right on the pillow to brush it on. Take a strip of Canvas Corp canvas fabric and cut it 6″x22″. Fold it in thirds and iron it flat. Then paint black arrows or wide “v’s” along the strip. It isn’t a perfect line paint job and that is intentional for the look.
Take the black paint and distress the edges of the pillow. I like the worn look that frames the orange.
On the back side of the pillow, make black dots with “shadow” edges. It compliments the overall look.
Use a 12″x12″ piece of Chalkstock to make a “web” like label for the pillow. This is just a free-form cut out, not perfect. I like to “prime” the chalkstock with rubbing chalk on it before I use my Chalk ink so it shows that it is Chalkstock. I attached everything with my Go-To-Glue…Fabri-Tac by Beacon Adhesive.
